Australian-Made Side Belt Conveyor for Underside Coding, Container Transfers and Product Spacing
The ICP Transfer Belts, also known as a bottomless conveyor or side belt conveyor, provide precise and reliable container handling within automated packaging and production lines.
The system uses two opposing side belts to grip and support containers while leaving their base completely exposed. This makes it ideal for underside inkjet coding or laser coding, allowing batch numbers, expiry dates, lot codes, barcodes and traceability information to be applied directly to the bottom of bottles, jars, cans and other containers.
ICP Transfer Belts can also be used to create a smooth container transfer between conveyors, feed products into labelling or packaging machinery, and control automated line spacing before downstream equipment or accumulation tables.

It was originally engineered to withstand the demands of a commercial rental fleet, making it equally suited to demanding production environments where reliability, flexibility and long service life are essential.
Underside Inkjet and Laser Coding
A conventional conveyor supports the product from underneath, preventing access to the container base. The ICP bottomless conveyor lifts and carries each container using opposing side belts, creating an unobstructed area beneath the product.
An inkjet or laser coding head can then be positioned below the container to apply:
- Batch and lot numbers
- Use-by and best-before dates
- Production and traceability codes
- Barcodes and other variable information
A 20 mm accessory rail is included for mounting a coding head, sensor or adjustable coding trolley.
Container Transfers and Automated Line Spacing
The Transfer Belts can bridge gaps and transfer containers smoothly between conveyors or separate pieces of packaging equipment. This helps minimise tipping, catching and unstable transitions when handling suitable bottles, jars, cans and other containers.
Independently adjustable belt speeds can also be used to match the speed of adjoining equipment or create controlled spacing between products. This makes the system suitable for feeding labelling machines, printers, inspection systems, accumulation tables and other automated packaging equipment.
