How do I choose which air compressors I need, or if my current compressor is sufficient?
Depending on the filling machine or the capping machine will depend on how much air you require for the application.
Using a compressor that is not powerful enough can cause the equipment to be inconsistent, slow down and in some cases stop operating until the air pressure becomes above the minimum required.
Air compressors that recharge too often and don’t get time to rest between recharging is a sign that the compressor is not fit for the application. This can also result in the compressor constantly overheating which can cause oil from the compressor motor to pass into the air system and in return cause issues with the filling and capping equipment.
Most pneumatic based filling and capping equipment will need a min of 87psi (6 bar) of constant air pressure. The important part is the L/min required and this will depend on the machine and the application.
